TWD: Rugelach

This weeks pick for TWD is Rugelach, chosen by Grace of Piggy's Cooking Journal, recipe can be found here. Grace: thank you so much for picking this recipe, I really enjoyed making these!

I had two problems with this recipe: first of all I don't own a food processor.... So I decided to go and try to make the dough with my hand mixer..... This took forever so I ended up cutting the butter into the dough with two knives.

Second of all: I had never had Rugelach in my life, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect and didn't have anything to compare the endproduct with... I loved it!! I used apricot jam, pecans and mini chocolate chips (77%, thanks to my mom who brought them from USA!!) Ow and I accidentally only used half the amount of chocolate indicated in the recipe.

Also the consultants at my new job loved these!! Check out what my fellow TWD-ers cooked up this week here. P.S. Kirstin: I'll try to post tomorrow to tell a little bit more about my old job and my new job!!

These look great, Marthe! I didn't have an end product to compare mine to either, so I'll just have to assume that they were the best ever made -- ha ha! Glad that you enjoyed this recipe too!

Hi Marthe....please let me know what you would like to choose for CEiMB next week. I have decided to take over for Leigh if she still wants me to.

They look perfect!
Make sure you put a food processor on your Christmas list. They are very handy. It is nice to have a big one and a mini chopper. Ask Santa. :)

Your combinations sound great - I halved the chocolate and liked them, but liked the ones without chocolate even more! Great job cooking "blind" - your end product looks perfect.

Awesome job. Even without the food processor! Much better than I did without one.
